Characteristics

Linguine, which in Italian means "little tongues", is one of the most common Italian "long" pasta shapes and derives its origins from Liguria, a beautiful coastal region.

Linguine are combined with vegetable-based sauces, with fish, and with all the ingredients of the Mediterranean culinary tradition: for example, a perfect combination could be with shrimp and broccoli or zucchini. However, the most traditional recipe from Genova is with basil pesto.
