The blueberry bush (Vaccinium cyanococcus) is a flowering shrub that produces berries with a blue, purple hue - also known as blueberries. It flowers from May to June with white-pink bell-shaped flowers. It produces edible fruits from August to September, with a slightly tart taste.
The blueberries are small - about 5-16 mm in diameter - and have a swollen crown at the end. They are among the most nutrient-dense berries.
