Citadelle No Mistake is an old tom gin, at 46% alcoholic strength, distilled in Charentais blunts with direct ignition. The raw material is made from French grain. Then with the patented "Progressive Infusion" system 22 botanicals are added, 19 of which are found in Citadelle Original as well as yuzu, wild absinthe and corn. Toasted sugar (35-40 grams per litre) is then added to be aged in barrels for about 4 months to homogenise and blend well with the ultimate goal of an ideal blend.
It is distilled at low temperature to preserve the unique freshness of the 22 botanicals that make it up. Fresh and intense nose of yuzu, orange peel, caramelized lemons, violet and fennel aromas with soft spices and liquorice. Subtle taste, with the freshness of the flowers becoming more spicy with notes of tangerine and melon. Distinctive notes of nutmeg, orris root and star anise are prominent. Long finish with floral and fruity sensations, almond, quinine and grains of paradise.
A total of 20 aromatics create the unique taste of Citadelle Wild Blossom Extreme n ° 2. On the same spice base as Original Citadelle, Wild Blossom offers an even more floral profile with a new infusion of wild cherry blossom petals. Its fresh and poetic character is accelerated by a five-month aging process in cherry barrels, a type of wood characterized by red fruits and fresh hazelnut.
The process of "Solera" is extremely rare for the production of gin. The Solera aging method used for CitadelleGin is an intensive process of placing the Citadelle in different types of barrels for 2 to 5 months .The aging barrel makes the floral and citrus sensation softer. The aim is for the herbs used ,to enhance the classic juniper taste that create a classic gin. The result of aging is a golden color with the addition of soft vanilla notes to the flavor, without neutralizing the cedar sensation.
Citadelle Gin achieves the perfect balance between intensity and finesse and is distinguished by the intense flavour of the main ingredient of Gin which goes by the name of Juniper or Juniperos. It is the only gin made by direct ignition of the Charentais copper amber, which is also used to make Cognac. 19 herbs and aromatics ensure its floral complexity. Ideal for strong Gin & Tonics.
